Way2Sign is built on a zero-trust, privacy-first philosophy. Unlike standard e-signing tools that require uploading confidential papers to remote company servers, our primary signing architecture operates entirely in your browser memory.

1. Document Processing Architecture

By default, all document parsing, image compilation, visual overlay positioning, and PDF finalizations are executed strictly client-side (inside your browser thread).

  • Your uploaded contracts never leave your device during a standard signing session.
  • All operations use local web workers and browser-based rendering canvases (PDF.js).
  • There is no background transmission of file content to our backend or external servers.

2. Data Collected for Anonymous Users

For users who sign documents without registering an account:

  • No Accounts: You do not need to register to use the tool.
  • No Document Retention: We never store, log, or cache your document files or signatures on any server.
  • Session Ephemerality: Once you close your browser tab or refresh the page, the loaded document and drawn signature are permanently deleted from your browser RAM.

3. Data Collected for Authenticated Users (Opt-in)

If you choose to register for an optional free account to keep a record of your signed files, we collect and store:

  • Account Credentials: Your email address or Google profile information (name, profile photo URI, unique Google ID) provided via Firebase Authentication.
  • Signing History Metadata: Record logs of your operations in Cloud Firestore (file name, size, timestamp) to display in your personal "Workspace" dashboard.
  • Saved Signatures & Assets (Optional): If you explicitly choose to save a signature scan or custom asset template for re-use, it is stored in our secure private Firebase Storage bucket, linked strictly to your authenticated User ID.

4. Third-Party Service Integrations

We prioritize raw transparency over boilerplate:

  • Infrastructure Providers: We use Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Cloud Storage) as our sole hosting and serverless database provider.
  • Strict No-Broker Policy: We do not integrate third-party ad networks, trackers, data brokers, or monetization analytics. We do not sell or lease user metadata.

5. Cookies and Local Storage usage

We use browser storage solutions strictly for functional and performance purposes:

  • Service Worker Caching: Our progressive web app shell uses standard service worker caching to store static assets so you can use the signing utility offline. This cache never records document content.
  • LocalStorage: We store local draft configurations, preferences, and offline history logs strictly on your device storage so they persist between page reloads.

6. User Control & Data Erasure Rights

You retain full sovereign control over your data:

  • Workspace Purging: You can permanently delete any saved document entry or signature record from your dashboard at any time.
  • Account Deletion: If you wish to completely wipe your account from our Firebase database, please contact us at support@way2sign.com.

7. Children's Privacy

Way2Sign is not marketed to or designed for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly harvest or maintain data from minor users.

Welcome to Way2Sign. By using our website, service workers, or offline tools, you agree to comply with the following operational terms. Please read them carefully before processing document overlays.

1. Description of Service

Way2Sign is a lightweight, browser-based utility that enables users to upload document files (such as PDFs, PNGs, JPEGs, and Word Documents (.docx)), place custom signature overlays, and download flattened visual files. The basic utility is provided completely free of charge, with no subscription walls, visual watermarks, or file limits.

2. "As-Is" Nature of Tool & Disclaimer of Legal Binding

CRITICAL DISCLAIMER: Way2Sign is a layout positioning and image flattening tool. It is NOT a certified, enterprise-grade electronic signature service. We do not provide cryptographic hashing, public key infrastructure (PKI) audits, secure multi-party verification trails, or compliance standards such as the ESIGN Act (USA) or eIDAS (European Union).

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • Way2Sign makes no warranty regarding the legal binding nature or enforceability of any flattened PDF created using this service.
  • Certain jurisdictions, regulatory bodies, and business sectors mandate strictly controlled digital certificates and audit logs for legal validation.
  • You are solely responsible for determining if a simplified visual signature overlay meets the statutory and contract requirements of your transaction.

3. Acceptable Use Guidelines

You agree to use Way2Sign only for legitimate, legal purposes. Specifically, you agree NOT to:

  • Impersonate any third party or forge signatures on documents to which you are not a legal party or authorized representative.
  • Upload documents containing malicious code, embedded spyware, or content designed to corrupt our rendering engines.
  • Attempt to exploit, overload, or bypass security rules on our Firebase database endpoints through automated scripting or scraping.

4. Optional User Accounts

Creating an optional account via Firebase grants access to a persistent Workspace. We reserve the absolute right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate our acceptable use policies, or to remove saved records that consume excessive infrastructure resources.

WAY2SIGN IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, COMPLETELY SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

6. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Way2Sign, its creators, or infrastructure providers be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (including, without limitation, loss of data, business disruption, or contract disputes) arising out of the use or inability to use the signing tool.

7. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you access Way2Sign from a different jurisdiction, you remain responsible for compliance with any local laws applicable to your use of the service.

1. Device-Local Processing (Primary Security Shield)

In traditional contract management systems, uploading a PDF transfers your highly sensitive signatures, personal addresses, and financial figures to a corporate cloud database. This creates a massive vector for data leaks.

Way2Sign operates on a strict zero-trust baseline:

  • All operations occur in-memory inside your device's browser sandbox.
  • We do not transmit, analyze, or process your files on external microservices.
  • Your legal paperwork remains entirely within your control.

2. Secured Storage & Workspace isolation

If you choose to create an optional account, we isolate your saved records using Google Cloud Security standards:

  • Firebase Authentication: Google-grade user profile authentication ensures only verified sessions can read/write data.
  • Strict Firestore & Storage Rules: Access security layers strictly isolate database folders. A user is physically restricted from accessing files belonging to another User ID.
  • Encryption in Transit: All data is synchronized via Secure Sockets Layer (HTTPS) with TLS 1.3 encryption.

3. Absolute Transparency on Current Limitations

To build trust, we must be honest about our project's early status. Way2Sign:

  • Does NOT have SOC 2 or ISO 27001 corporate compliance certifications at this stage.
  • Does NOT employ user-held end-to-end cryptographic key encryption (data in Google Cloud Storage is encrypted at-rest using Google-managed server keys, not user-held keys).
  • Does NOT provide advanced cryptographic digital signature seals (such as HSM-signed public key arrays) to verify signer authenticity.

Is Way2Sign really free? Are there any hidden catch features?

Yes, Way2Sign is 100% free with no hidden paywalls, no monthly subscription demands, and absolutely no visual watermarks on your downloaded documents. Our client-side signature overlays run locally, meaning they don't consume heavy server hosting bandwidth, allowing us to keep this tool accessible to the community indefinitely.

How secure are my documents? Are they ever sent to any servers?

Your documents are fully secure. Unlike classic e-sign companies that upload your confidential papers, Way2Sign executes all rendering, overlay operations, and signature compilations inside your local browser memory space. Your documents never touch our cloud storage unless you explicitly choose to sync files via an authenticated Workspace account.

Do signed documents carry full legal weight?

Way2Sign is a convenient signature overlay layout utility. It does not provide certified digital cryptographic audit logs or advanced authentication frameworks (such as eIDAS compliance). While visual overlays are widely accepted for basic agreements (rental forms, consent slips, internal onboarding), certain formal transactions may require legally-certified cryptographic proof. Check your jurisdiction court rules to ensure compatibility.

What happens if I accidentally close the tab mid-session?

If you are using our anonymous guest mode, all active configurations are stored purely in temporary RAM. If you reload, exit the tab, or close the browser, your document state is lost immediately. To prevent data loss, we recommend keeping your workspace active or creating an account to save templates inside your persistent Workspace.

How do I install Way2Sign as an app (PWA)? Can I use it offline?

Way2Sign is built as a complete Progressive Web App (PWA). In Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, click the computer/install icon on the address bar to add it to your desktop. In Apple iOS Safari, tap the Share icon and click "Add to Home Screen". This loads the signing app shell so you can process local files offline anywhere.

How do I delete my saved signature assets or dashboard records?

You can instantly purge items by clicking the trashcan icons inside your Workspace dashboard. For anonymous sessions, clearing your browser cache/cookies wipes local storage records. To completely purge your Firestore credentials and storage containers, send an email request to our support mailbox.
