Is Way2Sign really free? Are there any hidden catch features?
Yes. Core signing and the 14 document tools are free to use, without a required account or output watermarks. Practical file-size and page limits keep processing manageable on your device.
How secure are my documents? Are they ever sent to any servers?
Signing and PDF tools process your files locally in your browser. Optional account features can store presets and overlay records, and forms transmit the information you choose to submit. Read the Privacy Policy for details.
Do signed documents carry full legal weight?
Way2Sign places electronic-signature overlays; it does not issue certificate-based digital signatures or identity-verification audit trails. Acceptance depends on the document, applicable law, consent and the receiving party. Read our plain-English legal guide and check the recipient’s requirements.
What happens if I accidentally close the tab mid-session?
Active document state can be lost when you reload or close the tab. Download your completed document before leaving. Browser preferences and intentionally saved account records are separate from the document you are editing.
How do I install Way2Sign as an app (PWA)? Can I use it offline?
Use your browser’s Install app or Add to Home Screen option. On iPhone, open Way2Sign in Safari and use Share → Add to Home Screen. Load the features you need online first; cached app assets and OCR models can then work offline. Account synchronization and sending feedback still need a connection. See the installation guide.
How do I delete my saved signature assets or dashboard records?
Use the account and preference controls to remove saved records, and remove local browser data if you want to clear device storage. For questions about account data deletion, contact support@way2sign.com. See the Privacy Policy for the types of data involved.
Which PDF tools can I use?
Open Free Tools on the home page for scanning, cropping, OCR, password protection, PDF to Word, compression, merging, splitting, page numbering, rotation, page reordering, PDF to image, image to PDF and Word to PDF.
Can I make scanned PDFs searchable?
Yes. Searchable PDF (OCR) recognizes printed English, French or Spanish text on your device, up to 40 PDF pages. Review the output for errors. The engine and language model require an initial download; after they are cached, OCR can work offline.
Does password protection verify who signed a document?
No. AES-256 password protection restricts opening a PDF. It does not verify signer identity, create a cryptographic digital signature or prevent an authorized reader from sharing the contents.
Will PDF to Word preserve my layout?
Editable text mode creates basic paragraphs and can use OCR for scanned pages. Page appearance mode inserts page images into a Word file. Complex tables, fonts and editable layout may need manual work.
