Introduction

Way2Sign ("we", "our", or "us") is a free, browser-based document signing tool. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our application at way2sign.com.

Our core principle is zero-trust privacy: your documents are processed entirely within your browser and are never uploaded to our servers.

Document Processing

All document signing, form filling, and PDF compilation happens locally in your web browser using JavaScript. Your documents never leave your device. We have no access to the content of the files you open, sign, or download through Way2Sign.

This local processing model means:

• Your documents are not uploaded to any server.
• We cannot read, view, or access your document content.
• No document data is stored on our infrastructure.
• In-memory document processing ends when the tab closes. Downloaded files and intentionally saved browser preferences or account records remain until you delete them.

Camera, OCR and PDF Tools

The scanner requests camera permission only when you choose to open the camera. You can use image uploads instead. Scanner photos, OCR documents and PDF passwords are processed locally. OCR downloads an engine and language models from this site, which your browser may cache for offline use. Uploaded documents and PDF passwords are not placed in the app’s service-worker cache.

Information We Collect

We may collect limited information when you interact with certain features of Way2Sign:

Feedback and Contact Submissions

When you submit feedback through our feedback form, we collect the information you provide, including your name (optional), email address (optional), and message. Contact support submissions include your name, email, subject and message. This data is stored in our database to help us improve the product.

The optional post-download satisfaction survey sends only a 1–5 rating and a submission timestamp to the feedback database. It does not send your name, email, document, filename, tool details or page metadata.

Account Data (Signed-In Users)

If you choose to sign in, we store your "My Info" presets (name, email, etc.) and placed overlay history in your personal Firestore document. This data is tied to your account and is only accessible by you.

Analytics

We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how Way2Sign is used. This data is aggregated and does not identify individual users or document content.

Cookies and Local Storage

Way2Sign uses browser local storage to save your preferences (such as session style settings, dismissed notifications and the next date to show the optional satisfaction survey). This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Firebase (Google): Used for user authentication and optional data storage (My Info presets, overlay history). Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Vercel: Hosting provider for way2sign.com.
• Google Fonts and YouTube: Font requests and embedded video playback can connect to Google services. YouTube embeds are separate from local document processing and do not receive your uploaded documents.

Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect the limited data we do collect. However, since the vast majority of your document processing happens locally in your browser, the primary security of your documents depends on your own device and browser security.

Children's Privacy

Way2Sign is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page with an updated revision date.
