Find the file before opening the signer
Android phones use different file managers: you might see Files, My Files or another manufacturer app. Download the PDF from its original message and confirm that it opens locally. A cloud placeholder, a link to a signing portal and an actual PDF are different things.
If the sender provided an official signing invitation, use that invitation unless they agree to a separate PDF workflow. Downloading an invitation's preview and signing elsewhere can omit the evidence the sender expected.
Add your signature in the browser
- Open Way2Sign in Chrome or another compatible current browser.
- Tap the upload area and choose the original PDF from your device's file picker. Grant access only as needed for the file you select.
- Wait for the pages to render, then open Signature Studio.
- Choose Draw for handwriting, Type for a name-based signature, or Upload for a signature image.
- Create the mark, move it onto the signature line and resize it within the space provided.
- Fill required fields and add a printed name or date if the document asks for them.
- Tap Download Signed, wait for completion and open the result from Downloads or your file manager.
Chrome documents its download controls in Google's Android download guide. Exact labels can vary across browsers and manufacturers.
Drawing on a Samsung or another Android phone
A finger works for many signatures; a compatible stylus may offer more control. You do not need a Samsung-specific signing app for the browser workflow. Draw at a comfortable size and scale down afterward rather than enlarging a very small, rough sketch.
If the page scrolls while you try to position a signature, make the overlay's controls visible and use deliberate movements. Rotate the phone if the available working area is too narrow, then check the final layout after returning to portrait orientation.
Send the downloaded PDF as a document
Return the file through the agreed channel. In a messaging app, choose the document/file attachment option rather than sending an image of the screen. That keeps the full page set together and avoids unnecessary screenshot compression.
Before sending, open the PDF independently. Inspect the signature, dates, initials and attachments. Keep both the original and signed versions when the agreement matters, with clear names that do not overwrite your only source copy.
Common Android problems and fixes
- Cannot find the file: finish downloading it from the message, then check Downloads or the location you selected.
- Picker shows only photos: choose its document/file browsing option; do not substitute a photograph for a multi-page PDF.
- Export stalls: keep the browser open, close unnecessary apps and retry with a smaller authorized file if memory is limited.
- Wrong format: the main signing flow accepts PDF, DOCX, PNG and JPEG. Renaming another format does not convert it.
- Restricted PDF: obtain an authorized version from the sender; browser signing is not a document-unlocking service.
Understand the limits of this workflow
Way2Sign adds visual signatures and text with standard processing in the browser. It does not notarize, certify identity or issue digital signing certificates. For documents requiring a specific service or stronger verification, follow the recipient's instructions. For recurring use, you can install the web app on your phone without changing these capabilities.
Common questions
Can I sign a PDF on a Samsung phone?
Yes, a compatible browser can run the same workflow. The file manager and download labels may differ from other Android phones.
Do I need to create an account to sign?
Way2Sign’s standard browser signing flow does not require an account. Optional saved or synced features are separate.
Why is my PDF missing from the file picker?
Confirm the attachment is fully downloaded and browse the correct device folder. A photo-only picker will not show every document.
